The Business Travel Association is the only representative body for Travel Management Companies (TMCs) and the business travel community in the UK. It represents 80 per cent of all managed travel booked in the UK. This ranges from the world’s largest TMC groups, to specialist businesses who have the in-depth knowledge and expertise to power a certain sector.
The BTA lobbies those who have an impact on the business travel of Members’ clients – such as travel suppliers, government or EU legislators, opinion formers and the media. The aim of the BTA’s work in this area is to provide a better deal for organisations and their travelling employees, and to ensure that their views and requirements are represented at the highest level.
With over 200 independent Business Travel locations across the UK and a group turnover in excess of £4.5 billion, Advantage Business Travel membership enables us to secure excellent deals with a range of Business Travel suppliers including flights, hotels, car rental, rail and ancillary services.
Internationally, we are also well connected and are a members of WIN, the Worldwide Independent Travel Network, a partnership of likeminded travel agency groups with over 6,000 locations in over 70 countries around the world.
The Institute of Travel Management is the leading professional body for buyers, managers and suppliers of business travel and meetings in the UK and Ireland. Established in 1956 and representing over 3,500 business travel buyers and suppliers across the UK and Ireland.
It promotes best practice and benchmarking among its members as well as developing individual and collective expertise through its structured education and research programme. Membership also gives us access to a wealth of business travel research as well as best practice sharing.
The Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) has a 30-year reputation for leading the way corporate travel is conducted. As a global association, comprised of executive-level members in more than 100 countries, ACTE pioneers educational and technological advances that make business travel productive, cost-effective and straightforward.
ACTE advocacy and initiatives continue to support impactful changes in, safety and security, privacy, duty of care and compliance along with traveler productivity that supports global commerce.
African Business Travel Association, the only Member-led Business Travel Association with a focus on Corporate Travel not only in South Africa but across the African Continent too. ABTA provides a platform for Corporate Travel Management education and sharing of best practice by hosting region-specific industry events and facilitating information flow utilising various platforms in countries across Africa including Angola, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa.
Although ABTA initiatives are open and relevant to all industry sectors, the educational focus is aimed towards the Corporate sector so that a better educated buying community will drive the continued elevation and advancement of the business travel industry.
The Association of Women Travel Executives (AWTE) is a member organisation that offers networking and professional development opportunities to support the careers of women in travel, tourism and hospitality. The AWTE’s influence stretches across six decades, after it was founded in 1954 at a time when women were beginning to make travel a viable career option.
Since then, it has continued to create an environment for the sharing of ideas, debating of trends, and networking with peers, associates and other travel professionals to develop new business.
Women in Travel (CIC) started life as a gender focussed platform at World Travel Market flagship event in London, in 2014. Growing successfully from then onwards, in 2017 it was incorporated as a social enterprise, meaning a commercial company that reinvests all profits into its mission.
